Pasta Carbonara E-mail

Everyone will enjoy this tasty Italian-style recipe...


500g pasta (shells, 'bows', wheels, spirals, fettucini etc)

10 thin slices parma ham or bacon, chopped

4 eggs

1 cup parmesan cheese, grated

250ml cream


Cook the pasta in a large pan of rapidly boiling water until al dente, then drain and return to the pan.

Cook the parma ham in a non-stick pan until crisp.

Whisk together the eggs, parmesan and cream, then stir in the ham.

Pour the sauce over the warm pasta in the pan and toss gently to coat.

Return to the heat and cook gently for 1 minute, or until slightly thickened.

(NOTE:  Be careful not to overheat or the eggs will begin to scramble!)


Serves:  4.
